The New Lord's Prayer

This anthem represents a very unique sonic experience. Departing from other settings of the “Model Prayer” in the choral canon, this version explores an exaggerated expressive language based on a more chromatic harmonic syntax. A through-composed theme follows the scansion of the text with a natural approach that pleases the ear, creating a variety of colorful moments. A hushed “amen” offers a softer option for worship transitions when programming this important moment.
