Come Thou Long Expected Jesus

This musical re-boot of the classic Wesleyan Advent text is very different from other versions. Primal in its energetic approach, the piano announces instantly the robust qualities of this theme in minor mode. The slower, chant-like middle section offers supreme contrast with layers of unctuous sonority. The brawny opening returns for the final exclamatory ending but not before the decisive tune is heard in canon.
